A new retail development will kick off construction Wednesday along Palmview’s main thoroughfare with a Wingstop already reserving one of the spaces.
City officials announced in a news release Monday that they will hold a groundbreaking ceremony along with the Palmview Municipal Development District, or PMDD, to mark the official start of construction for a new retail development.
The ceremony will kick off at 10 a.m. Wednesday and is open to the public, the release stated.
The Shops at Palmview will be an 8,260-square-foot plaza adjacent to H-E-B and the grocery store’s property near the intersection of Interstate 2 and Goodwin Road, with the developer Corporate Asset Partners adding the development will be accessible from Interstate 2 and through Veterans Boulevard.
Palmview residents may have noticed that the home along Palma Vista near the H-E-B and Peter Piper Pizza was recently demolished after being there for years. The Shops at Palmview will takeover the site’s location as its address is officially 1562 W. Palma Vista Dr.
The development will include four retail spaces with one of those already reserved for a Wingstop — the first location for Palmview.
“The Shops at Palmview will join the bustling retail heart of the City that averages between 6,000 to 15,000 vehicles daily,” the news release stated.
Following the groundbreaking, construction will begin and city officials anticipate the project to be complete by summer 2025.
