Weslaco Police chief resigns, interim named

WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Weslaco Police Chief Joel Rivera has announced his resignation from the department.

In a press conference on Wednesday, it was announced that Armando Espinoza has been named interim chief for the Weslaco Police Department.

Rivera was sworn in as Weslaco Police chief in April 2018. He had previously served as the Division Chief for the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office.
