SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A waterspout was spotted near South Padre Island on Saturday morning.
ValleyStormTeam Chief Meteorologist Bryan Hale said conditions have changed, allowing waterspouts to form off and along our shore.
He added that they are mostly harmless, but people should always avoid their path on water and land.
According to the National Weather Service, tropical funnel clouds and landspouts are possible on Saturday due to light winds and increased tropical moisture, making conditions favorable for them to form.
