RGV Emergency Communication District host Public Safety Wellness seminar

McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Rio Grande Valley Emergency Communication District hosted its second annual Public Safety Wellness seminar.

The event was held on Thursday at the McAllen Convention Center and aims to provide valuable insights and mental health resources/stress management for those involved or interested in public safety.

Dennis Moreno, assistant director for the Rio Grande Valley Emergency Communication District, told ValleyCentral, that he hopes people reflect and leave the seminar thinking about their mental wellness.

"We want them to say, 'Hey, it's OK to put that badge down, it's OK to put that phone down' and reflect on themselves; this is what we are doing and what we are attributing to the telecommunications," he said.
