So ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests and valued members of our community, today marks a pivotal moment in our commitment to mental health care, a moment where a promise meets action.
As we gather here for the groundbreaking of our new behavioral facility, we stand united in a vision to bring world class mental health care to every individual in our community, rooted deeply in compassion and delivered in a way that promotes solidarity and hope.
As we break ground today, we also break down barriers. We are here to instill hope, to provide refuge and to foster healing for those who have faced the many challenges of living with mental illness.
This new hospital will shine a light of hope and will be a place where individuals can find support, understanding and the resources that they need to thrive.
Our mission does not end with this building. It extends into the lives that we will touch, the stories that we will hear and the futures that we will help shape.
We aspire to continue expanding our reach, impacting the lives of individuals suffering from mental illness across our community.
Together, we will create a world where mental health is prioritized, where stigma is diminished and where every person knows that they are valued.
I want to emphasize that this will be the work of the many key individuals standing across so many organizations, coming together to rally behind mental health.
These strides are never taken alone. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here today, for your dedication and for believing in this vital cause.
Together, let’s turn this vision into a reality and make a lasting difference in the lives of those that we care so deeply about.
Just as DHR help has partnered with community organizations, this joint investment by DHR Health, the City of Pharr and the great State of Texas, will provide the means to strengthen our outreach and expand partnerships with local and state law enforcement and judicial systems in order to improve access to critical mental health care
This day would not be possible without the forward thinking drive of so many individuals, and I would like to especially thank Mr. Alonzo Cantu, Susan Turley, Aida, Marissa, Maritza, the amazing behavioral health team.
Esther Fuentes, my beloved friends and family, whom all surround us here today. I appreciate all of you more than you know.
