MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — McAllen police have arrested a man who allegedly shot up to 100 rounds in a residential area.

Multiple calls were reported at 11:16 p.m., Thursday in the area where the gunshots were heard.

The gunshots were reported through 11:32 p.m., urging police to identify the exact residence where the gunfire was coming from.

Police located the residence and confirmed the suspect had been firing rounds from the 3000 block of Gumwood Ave.

The suspect, identified as 37-year-old Ponciano Garcia Jr., advised responding officers through telecommunication that the FBI was trying to take panels off his residence.

Garcia told police he was shooting 9mm and 22 caliber guns while wearing a tactical vest.

Gunfire continued at 12:33 a.m. when more gunfire was heard. Authorities confirmed it was originating from a metal shed located on the northeast corner of the suspect's property.
