Red Cross, firefighters install smoke detectors in Starr County 

LA GRULLA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The American Red Cross partnered with La Grulla Fire Department to install smoke alarms in homes.

Firefighters and emergency responders also brought awareness on how to install smoke alarms and the urgency of having at least one in a home incase of a fire.

"We are installing free smoke alarms to make our community in Starr County safer," said Kayla Gonzalez, Executive Director of American Red Cross.

Approximately 72 homes recieved newly installed smoke detectors with the help of emergency responders.
