SAN BENITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The San Benito Historical Society unveiled a Texas Historical Marker for three-time Gold Medal Olympian Bobby Morrow.

The event was hosted on Saturday morning outside Bobby Morrow Stadium. Many community members, including Morrow's daughter, attended the unveiling.

"Having the San Benito Historical Society to put this all together, it's just a great honor for me to know that this is going to be here to hopefully inspire the young people that come through these gates at Bobby Morrow Stadium," said Elizabeth Kelton, Morrow's daughter.

Kelton added that this marker ensures her father's memory will live on.

Morrow was a San Benito High School Graduate and three-time gold medalist at the 1956 Olympics.

In 2006 San Benito opened its District stadium and named it after Morrow. On Saturday, they paid homage to his legacy as a hometown hero and Olympic champion.
