BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation (Greater Brownsville) has begun a new mural project that will focus on contributing to the economic development and beautification of downtown Brownsville.

The new mural, currently in progress, is located at 923 E. Washington St. and is expected to be finalized by the end of March.

The concept behind the mural is innovative, providing a vibrant canvas for our community and visitors alike to increase foot traffic in the area. This, in turn, will benefit the businesses downtown and foster community support, according to Greater Brownsville.

The artist behind the project is Carlos Manuel Guerrero. With over 10 years of experience and an expressionist art style, Carlos has left his mark on numerous murals across the Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, Houston, and Matamoros.

Alexa J. Perez, Director of Marketing & Communications at Greater Brownsville, added,
"Through our mural project, we are addressing both, our community and our businesses.
The mural creates a connection with our community, increases appreciation for the arts
and artists, attracts tourism, and contributes to downtown reinvestment."
