RIO GRANDE VALLEY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Money Magazine has named the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley one of the best colleges in the United States.

Money's ranking considers factors such as quality of education, affordability, and student outcomes. Additionally, it includes strong performances in areas such as graduation rates, affordability, and return on investment contributing to UTRGV's high ranking.

Money also praised UTRGV, not just for its academic standing, but also for its campus community opportunities.

“Students here get some serious bang for their buck: the average annual cost is around $8,000, less than half the median cost for all four-year schools," according to the website.

UTRGV President Guy Bailey praised the university's efforts and achievements, and the selection criteria.

“This recognition from Money magazine is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, faculty, and staff," Bailey said. "At UTRGV, we have worked hard to offer a competitive, world-class education that is both accessible and affordable."

This latest honor adds to the university's growing list of national recognitions, further establishing it as a top choice for students seeking a valuable and transformative college experience, the news release stated.
