Mission CISD prohibits backpacks for remainder of week

MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Mission CISD announced that junior high and high school students will not be allowed to bring backpacks to school for the remainder of this week.

"This decision has been made out of an abundance of caution, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to maintain a safe learning environment," said district officials.

The district's news release said they will prioritize the safety of students and staff by implementing this precautionary measure.
