McAllen bicyclist killed after being hit by vehicle

A 68-year-old McAllen resident is dead after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday night, police said in a news release.

At around 11:35 p.m. Wednesday, McAllen police responded to a crash in the area of the 900 block of West Highway 83 involving a bicyclist and a vehicle, according to the release.

Daniel Codina, the bicyclist, died at the scene.

The driver remained there.

“The collision remains under investigation,” the release said.
