McAllen announces third annual Tacos, Tequilas, and Chelas Festival

McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of McAllen hosted a news conference to announce details regarding this year's Tacos, Tequilas, and Chelas Festival.

This is the third year that the Tacos, Tequilas, and Chelas Festival will take place in the city to celebrate the rich culinary and cultural heritage of McAllen.

Featuring a wide array of activities and entertainment, the festival aims to bring the community together for a day of fun, food, and festivities.

Residents of all ages are encouraged to come eat and enjoy. Free admission will be granted to children 10 and under.

The event will feature live music, craft margaritas, tequila tastings, a pinata station, chef-inspired street tacos, kid games, lucha libre, and an exotic car showcase.

The tacos named best in South Texas will earn a $6,000 cash reward.

The event will be held Sept. 14.
