Man who fired up to 100 rounds in residential area gets $95K bond

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — McAllen Police have charged Ponciano Garcia Jr. in connection with an incident that occurred Thursday at the 3000 block of Gumwood Ave.

According to McAllen Police, Garcia was arrested on Aug. 1. He was charged with aggravated assault, a first-degree felony, and given a $75,000 bond.

Gacia was also charged with discharge of a firearm in certain municipalities, a class “A” misdemeanor, and given a $10,000 bond.

In addition, he was charged with resisting arrest, search, or transportation, a Class “A” misdemeanor with a bond of $10,000.

Garcia was arraigned on Friday and is being held at the Hidalgo County Jail in place of bond.
