Major accident reported in Edinburg, traffic diverted

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Edinburg Police Department and Edinburg Fire Department are responding to a major accident.

A post from the City of Edinburg stated that the accident is at the intersection of N. Interstate Highway 69C and Russell Road, in the northbound lanes.

"All traffic will be diverted off the expressway to the frontage road," the post stated.

Officials are also asking that motorists avoid the area if possible.
