The city of Pharr is asking the public to avoid an area where a gas leak has been reported, according to the city spokesperson Michael Martinez.
The gas leak is located on the eastbound side of Frontage Road on Expressway 83.
Currently, both east and westbound main lanes and Frontage lanes from Cage Boulevard and Jackson Road are closed due to the gas leak.
The city doesn’t have an estimated time of reopening or when the gas leak will be fixed, according to Martinez.
“We are asking people to avoid the area, if possible,” Martinez said.
He added that the Pharr Fire Department is on the scene as well as gas companies.
