Edinburg Fire Department investigate fire, homeowner hospitalized

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Edinburg Fire Department is investigating a house fire that occurred on the 900 block of W. Yellow Bell St.

According to fire chief Omar Garza, the call for service came in at 8:59 a.m. At that point, the fire had spread to the attic. Firefighters made a hole in the roof to help with ventilation and the fire was extinguished.

One of the homeowners was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation, according to Chief Garza.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation.
