Edinburg CISD set to open new collegiate campus with UTRGV

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is celebrating its newest collegiate campus in collaboration with the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District.

Edinburg high school students will soon be able to take college courses at the newly completed UTRGV Edinburg CISD Collegiate High School.

The 76,000 square-foot campus will allow students to begin taking college classes with UTRGV during their junior and senior year.

Upon graduation, students will earn up to 60 hours towards a Bachelor of Science degree.

UTRGV and Edinburg CISD will mark the historic partnership with a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday evening.

The celebration will take place at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 31 at the new campus located on 1401 E. Freddy Gonzalez Dr. in Edinburg.

UTRGV Edinburg CISD Collegiate High School is currently accepting applications for incoming 9th and 10th grade students for the 2024-2025 school year.

Registration will begin Monday, August 5.

The first day of school is Monday, August 19.
