HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a two-vehicle crash that left a man dead.
At approximately 8:51 a.m. on Tuesday on FM 801 north of Murrow Road in Harlingen, a 2020 Kia Sedona that was occupied by a man was speeding while traveling southbound, according to DPS.
A 2023 Mack TE-6 occupied by a male driver was traveling northbound when the driver of the Kia failed to give half of the roadway and crashed head-on with the Mack.
Troopers say the Kia was engulfed in flames, which caused the Mack's cab to ignite.
The driver of the Kia, Ian Jeremy Rivera, 23, succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the Mack was not transported to a hospital.
The crash is still under investigation.
