DHR Health honors Veteran employees during ceremony

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — DHR Health in Edinburg is honoring its employees who have served or are currently serving in the military.

Joe Garza, a Cardiopulmonary Director at DHR Health, served in the U.S. Navy between 1986 to 1994 before serving patients in a hospital setting.

"Those were some of the best years of my life," Garza said. "Being a part of the military service is very honorable."

Garza was honored with his military peers during a ceremony at DHR Health.

The ceremony welcomed Veterans guest speakers who spoke on their experience serving in their respective branch.

"Honoring Veterans is a privilege. We served our country to give us the rights and the freedoms that we now possess," Garza continued. "We have our freedom because of our Veterans. We have our religious rights because because of a Veteran and we have so many other things."
