WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Weslaco Area Chamber of Commerce held its first Lemonade Day.
The event occurred at the Weslaco City Hall parking lot where the community supported its young entrepreneurs.
During the Lemonade Day event, children learned how to run a business, such as their lemonade stands, and encouraged them in entrepreneurship.
"When I was little I always enjoyed making lemonade with my grandma, so I remembered her recipe and decided to share it with my community," said Charlotte, a participant in the event.
In addition, the young lemonade stand owners learned how to be more money-aware.
The Weslaco Chamber of Commerce said its mission is to prepare future leaders to drive the economy forward.
