Caliche falls of truck on Harlingen expressway, traffic delays expected

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Traffic delays are expected on the expressway in Harlingen due to a cargo incident, according to the Harlingen Police Department.

Southbound lanes on U.S. Expressway 77 are closed off as police assist to a truck that dropped caliche on the road.

The incident happened at approximately 10:45 a.m.

As of 11:45 a.m., traffic on the southbound lane remains backed up.

The Texas Department of Transportation is on the scene with police to clear the caliche debris from the road and clear traffic.

No injuries were reported.
