HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Brownsville has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Lit Fiber.

According to the city, the partnership marks a significant step forward in the city’s mission to provide high-quality internet service to residents and businesses.

To celebrate the partnership, the city will host a week-long series of educational and informational seminars, that include the ribbon cutting for the Lit Fiber Demo Center, located at 744 E. Levee Street.

The seminars are scheduled for March 26-28 and will cover a range of activities designed to educate and engage on the benefits and opportunities presented by Lit Fiber.

Tuesday, March 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Lunch & Learn: City of Brownsville & CrowdStrike

This learning opportunity will feature a seminar on "Stopping Modern Attacks: Extending Abnormal Security and Email Security.” This is a presentation and discussion led in partnership between the City of Brownsville’s Information Technology Department and CrowdStrike, a global cybersecurity leader with an advanced cloud-native platform for protecting endpoints, cloud workloads, identities, and data.

This event will take place at the City of Brownsville's Communications and Marketing Department/Convention and Visitors Bureau Complex, located at 1312 E. Adams St., in downtown Brownsville.

Wednesday, March 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Lit Fiber Demo Center Ribbon Cutting and Panel Discussion

This event features the ribbon cutting of the Lit Fiber Demo Center. This will include an open house and be highlighted with a Panel Discussion on the advancements and enhancements Brownsville’s residents and businesses will experience with the new internet service; the Lit Fiber service experience and connectivity throughout Brownsville; and, Lit Fiber’s successes in other municipalities. Food and beverages will be served to those in attendance.

This event will take place at the Lit Fiber Demo Center, located at 744 E. Levee St.

Thursday, March 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Lunch & Learn: Brownsville Chamber of Commerce

This learning opportunity is open to the public. Attendees will learn insights into creating a compelling brand, defining their audience, converting customers, and building loyalty. This seminar is crucial for entrepreneurs aiming for growth through effective marketing strategies.
