BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A Brownsville Chick-fil-A employee was arrested for allegedly taking a photo of a customer inside the restroom, police said.

Juan Carlos Mar, 25, was arrested on a charge of invasive visual recording, a state-jail felony, according to Brownsville jail records.

Police stated that on July 27, officers responded to a disturbance at the Chick-fil-A on the 2100 block of Ruben M. Torres Blvd., where an employee had allegedly taken unauthorized photos of a customer inside the restroom.

Officers spoke with the manager, who confirmed that an employee, identified as Mar, had admitted to using his cellphone camera on a customer's stall after being confronted by the victim and their guardians.

Mar explained that he used his phone to check if a restroom stall was occupied, but denied taking pictures or video of the victim, a news release stated.

"Officers examined Mar's phone with his consent," Brownsville police said. "They found no photos or videos of the victim in either the gallery or deleted albums."

His cellphone was booked as evidence.

Mar was arrested and arraigned on July 28. His bond was set at $10,000.
