Boca Chica Beach, State Highway 4 to close ahead of SpaceX launch

BOCA CHICA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Boca Chica Beach and State Highway 4 will be temporarily closed in anticipation of the sixth SpaceX launch.

Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino has ordered the temporary closures starting Sunday, Nov. 17.

“I have ordered the closure of Boca Chica Beach and Hwy 4 for the purpose of protecting public
health and safety during SpaceX non-flight testing activities," Trevino announced in a statement.

Boca Chica Beach access will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday.

Trevino states that SpaceX personnel and law enforcement will be patroling the area to prevent anyone from entering the closed areas.

Two temporary checkpoints on State Highway 4 will be in place for residents who live in the surrounding area.

A proof of residence will be required to pass through two checkpoints to access their homes during SpaceX testing

Starship is scheduled to launch at 4 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18.
