Alleged child sex offender wanted in Cameron County

SAN BENITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Cameron County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating an alleged child sex offender.

Armando Alvarado, 55, is wanted on warrants for aggravated sexual assault of a child, indecency with a child, continuous sexual abuse of a young child or children and online solicitation of a minor.

The sexual assault allegations against Alvarado arose in February of 2020 when deputies responded to a residence in San Benito. When they arrived they spoke with a woman who stated her daughter, a minor, had made sexual assault allegations against Alvarado.

Investigators believe Alvarado has fled to Mexico.
