Active gas leak in Pharr causes road closures, traffic delays

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Pharr is advising residents and drivers of an active gas leak.

The leak is on the Eastbound Frontage Road along Interstate 2.

Both main lanes and frontage roads from Cage Blvd to Jackson Road will be closed to address the leak.

Traffic in the affected areas will be rerouted and detours are in place to aid in traffic flow.

"Please exercise caution, drive safely, and remain patient as we resolve the situation. Your safety is our top priority," the City of Pharr announced.

The city urges the public to avoid the area if possible.
