Wish Upon a Star 5K race 1K fun run

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Make-A-Wish Rio Grande Valley, announced its second annual "Wish Upon a Star 5K" event in Rancho Viejo.

The event also includes a 1K fun run and aims to raise funds for children with critical illnesses aged 2 to 18.

Since its inception, the local chapter has granted wishes to over 1,670 children.

Registration and packet pickup details are available on the Make-A-Wish website.

Additionally, 20% of proceeds from Black Bear Diner in Brownsville on the day of the event will go to Make-A-Wish.

The event encourages community involvement and group participation, with activities planned post-run.
