Weslaco ISD students take part in annual Back-to-School Bash

WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Students in the Weslaco Independent School District received free haircuts, backpacks, and vaccines Wednesday during their 3rd annual Back to School Bash.

During this year's bash, parents were able to register their children and visit with campus administrators.

"With over 40 area business representatives, our employees had a great time checking out what our great city has to offer," Public Information Officer Arminda Munoz said.

As an added incentive, WISD employees also won door prizes provided by bash vendors.

The Hidalgo County Constable's Precinct One provided free student identification cards.

The first day of school for Weslaco ISD is Aug. 19.
