Weslaco HS alum heads to the Summer Games as Team USA athletic trainer

WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A Weslaco High School 2014 alumna is heading to the Olympics as a Team USA athletic trainer.

Cathryn Carranza, who graduated from Weslaco High School before graduating from Texas A&M, traveled to Paris where she will serve as the Team USA skateboarding athletic trainer.

Weslaco High School took to social media to show support for Carranza.

"Weslaco HS and the whole community is proud of her and wish her the best at the Olympics and the rest of her career," the social media post states.
