LYFORD, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man was arrested for allegedly pointing a knife at a woman during an argument involving their relationship, deputies say.

Pedo Cortinas, 31, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon family violence, a second-degree felony, a news release from the Willacy County Sheriff's Office stated.

At 9:13 p.m. on July 17, Willacy County deputies arrived at a residence on Simon Road regarding an unwanted man at the location.

At the scene, a woman reported to deputies that a man, identified as Cortinas, left the residence in a gold Chevrolet Impala.

The woman told deputies, Cortinas had gone to her residence and began arguing about their relationship, according to the news release.

She also reported that during the argument, Cortinas grabbed her arm and pointed a knife at her.

The Raymondville Police Department later found a vehicle, similar to Cortina's, at a residence located on North 10th Street. Deputies went to the home and arrested Cortinas.

They also found the knife used in the altercation inside his vehicle. Authorities collected the knife as evidence.

Cortinas was booked into the Willacy County Sheriff's Office Jail.
