SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Laguna Madre Water District will begin improvements to its water distribution system from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday.
A news release from the LMWD stated it will be installing a 10-inch gate valve at 33261 State Park Rd 100 — from the east side of Padre Boulevard, located at 334 Padre Blvd. to Isla Blanca Park.
LMWD added it will shut down the water system in the area for an extended period. Some areas may experience low water pressure or no water at all.
Customers are advised to store water in containers and buckets for sanitary use and cooking, according to the news release.
Businesses with water pumps and chillers are asked to take the needed precautions to safeguard their equipment.
