TXU Energy and Food Bank of RGV to partner for food and fan distribution

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Tonight, TXU Energy is teaming up with the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley to provide relief to the most vulnerable Rio Grande Valley residents.

In the Food Bank RGV's Sunset Food Distribution event, volunteers will distribute 125 box fans to families in need. This distribution is made possible by a $2,500 donation from TXU Energy.

This donation from TXU Energy is part of its signature Beat the Heat program. For over 25 years, TXU Energy has helped thousands of Texans stay safe and cool in dangerous summer heat, according to the news release.

Fans will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis during the distribution. A photo ID and proof of address are required to participate in the food distribution.

Mark your calendars for July 18 at 6 p.m. at the Food Bank of Rio Grande Valley located at 724 N. Cage Blvd. in Pharr.
