EDINBURG, Texas – Dr. Luis Torres-Hostos is founding dean of the School of Social Work at UT-Rio Grande Valley.
Torres-Hostos gave the keynote address at a banquet held recently by Hidalgo County Community Service Agency to celebrate the CSA’s Access to Success program.
The event was held Dec. 12 at Monza Social Event Center in Edinburg.
Sergio Sanchez of KURV Radio introduced Torres-Hostos and read aloud some of his achievements.
In his remarks, Torres-Hostos spoke about his own family’s climb out of poverty and praised the 19 adults that completed the Access to Success program this year.
