Background

At 10:16 a.m. Thursday, police received a call of a shooting at the Flamingo Motel, which is located at the 1700 block of Central Blvd. When police arrived minutes later, they found a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman who had been shot in the legs.

As the vehicle came to a stop, one of the passengers, identified as Pulido, attempted to flee but was apprehended. Officers recovered two 9mm handguns from Pulido, police said.

“Preliminary information revealed that the incident arose due to a jealous, love triangle situation between the victims and Pulido,” Brownsville Police Department Investigator Abril Luna said.

The two victims were transported to a local hospital, with injuries police describe as non-life-threatening.
