SOUTH TEXAS HEALTH SYSTEM CHILDREN’S TO KICK OFF THE HOLIDAY SEASON WITH ITS ANNUAL CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS POSASDA
STHS Children’s is inviting the community to its merriest Christmas celebration of the year, featuring holiday-themed treats, activities, games and live entertainment for the family
The holiday season brings with it cheer, joy and good tidings. Throughout the month of December, families, friends and communities gather to celebrate all that’s merry and bright during the holiday season.
Among the merriest of celebrations is the South Texas Health System Children’s Christmas Posada, an annual event chockful of holiday cheer with live performances by local elementary, middle and high school students from schools across the Rio Grande Valley, as well as plenty of holiday-themed games and family-friendly goings-on like ornament and holiday card making arts & crafts activities.
With holly jolly fun for all, the annual posada is one of premier and spirited events of the holiday season in Hidalgo County and the perfect kick-off to the highly anticipated Christmas, Kwanzaa and Hanukkah celebrations for families across the region.
In addition to the live entertainment and arts & crafts activities, attendees can enjoy some delicious hot cocoa, holiday-inspired treats and specially themed displays by South Texas Health System’s facilities and local community organizations.
With the Children’s Posada growing in popularity each year, STHS anticipates this year’s posada to be the biggest and best yet with more than 1,000 guests expected to take part in the good tiding of comfort and joy.
“It’s certainly the most wonderful time of the year! And STHS Children’s is thrilled to unite the Rio Grande Valley community for this special celebration as we kick off the holiday season,” says Tom Castañeda, System Director of Marketing & Public Relations, South Texas Health System. “From writing letters to Santa to getting a keepsake photo with Jolly Old St. Nicholas himself, it’s the perfect event to begin the holiday celebrations with family and loved ones.”
Attendees are encouraged to throw on the comfiest fleece and flannel pajamas to enjoy the evening of festivities.
Taking place in the main parking lot of South Texas Health System Children’s, the Children’s Christmas Posada will be held on Friday, December 13, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
