Edinburg man dies in single-vehicle rollover crash

A 21-year-old Edinburg man died Tuesday night after his vehicle veered off a roadway, went airborne and rolled several times, causing him to be ejected.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said in a news release that the crash happened at approximately 10:30 p.m. on FM 1925 and Depot Road north of Edinburg.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Ernesto Hernandez Perez was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer eastbound on FM 1925.

“The driver veered onto the westbound lane off the roadway, went airborne, and rolled several times, ejecting the driver,” the release stated.

The man was taken to DHR Health where he died.

DPS continues to investigate the crash.
