HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A staple Harlingen pizzeria celebrated its re-grand opening Tuesday morning, two years after its original restaurant burned down.

Stefano's Brooklyn Pizza opened its doors and celebrated its re-grand opening with family, friends, regulars and new customers.

Graham Smith, the General Manager of Stefano's Pizza says the re-grand opening brought in a lot of support from the community.

"We were expecting 40-ish people and we've shot way beyond that," Smith said. "We really appreciate everything that everyone has done for us."

Two H-E-B locations in Harlingen to undergo renovations

Stefano's temporarily closed its doors in December 2021 after a major fire broke out, completely destroying the restaurant.

Immediately after the fire, the pizzeria stepped back to its roots and operated out of Steve's Food Mart in Harlingen, the same location where Stefano's got its start.

Stefano's operations continued at the food mart while fire damage restorations were being made on the restaurant building.

The newly renovated restaurant features a dining room, a bar, two banquet rooms, the New York room, a Texas room, and a patio.

It is located on 4201 W. Business 83 in Harlingen.
