2 Edcouch-Elsa ISD bands recieve National Honors

ELSA, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Edcouch Elsa Independent School District announced that the Carlos F. Truan Concert and Symphonic Band have received national honors sponsored by the Foundation of Music Education.

Both bands received national honors in the National Recognition in Mark of Excellence and Citation of Excellence.

Alama Arellano, Band Director for EEISD, told ValleyCentral that the Concert Band has been named a 2024 Citation of Excellence and the Symphonic band has earned recognition as a 2024 Mark of Excellence National Wind Band Honors.

"It's really exciting, it's new, it's different, it really is a testament to the resilience of our students, especially coming out of COVID, anyone who is an educator can tell that the world has changed dramatically in the field of education," Arrellano said. "There is a great sense of pride that goes with this."

Edcouch-Elsa ISD congratulates the bands for their achievements and success.
