ResacaFest in San Benito postponed due to hurricane concerns

SAN BENITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — ResacaFest, an annual celebration held in San Benito, has been postponed, according to city officials.

The event is held in July every year to ring in Fourth of July festivities and to celebrate the spirit of America.

This year's ResacaFest has been postponed due to the impact Hurricane Beryl may have on the Rio Grande Valley.

Hurricane Beryl is predicted to intensify over the Gulf of Mexico and regain strength before reaching south Texas this weekend.

ResacaFest was planned to take place Saturday, July 6 at Heavin Memorial Park.

The City of San Benito has not announced an alternative date for ResacaFest.
