Raymondville ISD takes action following local shooting

RAYMONDVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A secure protocol has been issued for all Raymondville Independent School District campuses, officials announced.

The protocol is in place for Raymondville ISD due to a suspect at large following a fatal shooting in Raymondville area.

"Please reassure your child that these precautions are in place to keep them safe," Raymondville ISD stated. "We understand that this may cause inconvenience but cooperation is crucial."

During secure protocol, all outside doors are locked on all campuses to ensure the safety of everyone inside. Classroom activities continue as normal.

"Our Incident Command System is active and staff are trained to handle this situation effectively," Raymondville ISD stated.
