Pharr EDC, UTRGV partner to open business development center

PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A center focusing on business development and resources will soon open its doors in Pharr.

In collaboration with the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, the Pharr Economic Development Corporation is celebrating the Pharr Global Business Hub.

The hub is designed to be a "one-stop" business development and resource center to support and foster business growth through a variety of programs and services.

"This innovative and first-of-its-kind center in the City of Pharr represents a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to support economic growth and global business development," said Victor Perez, President/CEO of the Pharr EDC.

The collaboration with UTRGV aims to enhance global business development opportunities for the region.

"Our collaboration with UTRGV ensures that we are providing the highest quality resources and education to our business and entrepreneurial community," Perez added. "This center will be a beacon of opportunity for local and international businesses alike."

Available resources at the new hub include the Global Soft-Landing Program, business advisement, Kauffman Fast Track Cohorts, access to the Small Business Development Center and professional education and workforce development programming.

The center will also feature a range of professional education and workforce development programming, aimed at equipping local businesses with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed.

"Pharr's International Bridge makes Pharr a prime location for international companies to lay down roots and for local companies with international ties to locate and expand."

The Pharr Global Business Hub will open its doors with a grand opening event at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 15 at 301 S. Cage Blvd.
