PD: Victim suffers serious injuries after being assaulted with vehicle

RANCHO VIEJO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — One person was left with serious bodily injuries after allegedly being assaulted with a vehicle, police said.

Hiram Henkel Hinojosa was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Rancho Viejo Police Department.

Rancho Viejo Police Chief Robert Tyler told ValleyCentral that the incident occurred during a custody dispute, and that there were serious bodily injuries that resulted from the alleged actions taken by Hinojosa.

"There was no weapon in the form of a handgun or knife, however a motor vehicle was utilized in the commission of this alleged crime," Tyler said.

Tyler added there was never danger to the public at any time during the incident.

The case has been referred to the Cameron County District Attorney's Office for criminal proceedings.
