PD: Mission officer shot; investigation underway

MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A Mission police officer was shot Saturday morning, authorities say.

The officer-involved shooting occurred at 10:25 a.m. on Military and FM 494 near San Diego Academy, according to Mission Police Department Public Information Officer, Art Flores.

Flores told ValleyCentral, that the officer was reported to be injured but in stable condition and the suspect is in critical condition.

Police have not released the suspect's name.

The Texas Rangers will be leading an investigation of this case.
