PD: Man stabbed by girlfriend, friend in Edinburg

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Three people were arrested after driving away from police following a stabbing incident, authorities say.

At 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, authorities responded to 1102 West Trenton Road in reference to a man who had been stabbed, according to a news release from the Edinburg Police Department.

At the scene, officers approached the victim who stated he had been stabbed and assaulted by his girlfriend and friend in his apartment, located at the 500 block of N. Edgewood Ave.

Authorities say the man had stab wounds, several bruises on his face and head, and multiple cuts on his knuckles. He is reported to be in stable condition.

The suspects were identified as 30-year-old Miguel Angel Pedroza and 29-year-old Caroline Valadez.

Edinburg PD later located the suspects and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but they drove away from police.

Edinburg police had to disengage from the chase due to the pursuit passing city limits. The chase was taken over by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The pursuit ended on 2nd Street and Business 83.

A third woman, identified as 31-year-old Catarina Olivo, was charged with evading arrest in a vehicle.
