PD: 7 arrested, including owner, at nightclub after claims of alcohol being served after hours

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Brownsville police arrested seven people at a nightclub, including the owner, for allegedly supplying alcohol beyond permitted hours.

At 2:50 a.m. on Sept. 1, the Brownsville Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety executed a search warrant at The Palace nightclub, located in the 1600 block of Ruben M. Torres.

According to a release from Brownsville PD, the search was part of an ongoing investigation regarding the nightclub.

Authorities say The Palace was found to violate the City of Brownsville Ordinance by operating after hours without a permit. The nightclub was also violating the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission's regulations by supplying alcohol beyond permitted hours, the release stated.

In addition, authorities say they discovered the establishment was involved in the sale of illegal narcotics during the raid.

Man arrested for allegedly assaulting two men with blunt object

The following suspects were arrested:

  • Jaime Ruvuelata, 43, owner of The Palace. He was charged with five counts of Alcoholic Beverage Code Violation.
    • His bond was set to $25,000.
  • Mario Moreno, 41, an employee at The Palace. He was charged with two counts of Alcoholic Beverage Code Violation.
    • His bond was set to $10,000.
  • Juan Jose Salinas, 41, was charged with possession of controlled substance PG 1 “Cocaine."
  • Abel Garcia Rivera, 25, was charged with possession of controlled substance PG 1 “Cocaine” and charged with public intoxication.
  • Brian Alexis Guerrero, 23, was charged with possession of marijuana.
  • Santiago Gutierrez Jr, 34, was charged with public intoxication.
  • Cristian Trejo Gallegos, 29, was charged with public intoxication.

"After all individuals were removed from the premises, officers conducted a thorough search and uncovered abandoned narcotics throughout the establishment," Brownsville police stated.
