EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Two men were arrested after an attempted kidnapping, authorities say.
At 5:30 a.m. authorities responded to an aggravated kidnapping at the 1400 block of Prosperity Street.
According to a release from the Edinburg Police Department, the call was made after two suspects went to an apartment searching for a woman.
Moments later the suspects took out their weapons and threatened the two men who were accompanying the woman.
The woman feared for her safety and fled to get help from her neighbors, which led to the kidnapping claim, the release stated.
At the location, authorities spotted a suspicious vehicle, that subsequently fled the scene. The suspects later abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
Authorities later arrested both suspects at the 800 block of W. Cooper Street.
The 29-year-old and 23-year-old men were charged with aggravated assault.
Police have not released the identity of the suspects.
