MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A McAllen restaurant that once stood as Coast Asian Bistro will soon re-open its doors as a new establishment under the same ownership.

State records show Mike Wang, the owner of the once Coast Asian Bistro, will be operating the new restaurant named Mujinzo at the same location.

Coast Asian Bistro closed its doors last December following a murder-suicide that claimed the lives of two people, including Wang's wife, Yi Min Jiang.

According to previous reports from ValleyCentral, the couple operated Coast Asian Bistro together.

McAllen police say Zeng Wang Huang opened fire inside Coast Asian Bistro during a verbal argument with Yin Min Jiang, also known as Amy.

The argument led to Huang fatally shooting Amy before turning the gun on himself.

Wang was also reported to have several gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital following the murder-suicide.

His new restaurant, Mujinzo, will be located on 7100 N. 10th St. in McAllen, the same location where the once Coast Asian Bistro stood.

Construction for the new restaurant will start July 1, according to state records.

Mujinzo is expected to be completed by December 30.

ValleyCentral reached out to Wang for comment on the new establishment but have not received a response.
