Narcotics valued at $260K seized at Anzalduas port of entry

MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Thousands of dollars worth of narcotics were seized at the Anzalduas International Bridge on Saturday, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

CBP officers seized approximately $263,500 worth of alleged cocaine concealed within a vehicle entering the United States from Mexico.

The vehicle, identified by CBP as a grey Honda SUV, was referred for further inspection.

Upon inspection, CBP officers extracted a total of 13 packages of alleged cocaine weighing 34.17 pounds hidden inside the Honda SUV.

“Our CBP officers remain vigilant and used all of our available tools and resources to thwart this smuggling attempt,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry.

The narcotics and vehicle were seized and the unidentified driver was arrested following the inspection.
