McAllen police search for man who allegedly stole money during a home purchase

McALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The McAllen Police Department is searching for a man accused of stealing money during a home purchase.

Authorities issued a warrant of arrest for Sergio Efrain Zamora Jr., 44, on allegations of theft.

The case opened after McAllen police received a report of money theft during a home purchase in February 2024, according to a news release.

McAllen police say the home purchase process was allegedly used to" deprive the victim of his money," further alleging the victim lost over $30,000.

Zamora is described as five feet, five inches tall, 190 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
